Bringing isolated and lonely people together for stimulating activities and friendly chat.
The Shop that Talks

Every 2nd Tuesday of the month, 10am-12pm, Co-op Haxby

Come and have a chat with Community Bees every month at the Haxby Co-op Store.
Chat about things you are concerned about or just drop by and say ‘Hello’.

We are there to talk about anything that is on your mind, to give you information and advice to support you in any way we can, especially during these difficult and confusing Covid times.

We often have other organisations with us, like Citizen’s Advice and Dementia Forward and your Local Area Coordinator who is there to help and support you too.

Call in a see us at the Haxby Co-op, we always like a natter.

 Independent Seller’s Market Cafe

Community Bees runs two Market Cafes in Northallerton and St Crux in York providing affordable food and drink in a friendly, safe space for people who might otherwise feel lonely or socially isolated to come and relax in.

There is always someone to talk to who goes out of their way to make everyone feel included and welcome.

Independent sellers can book a table at the Market Cafes to sell their produce and goods, creating a nice enterprise opportunity for them and a stimulating environment for the cafe users.

Any money raised by the market is used to provide activities that reduce isolation and loneliness as well as supporting the most disadvantaged people within the community.

Because of coronavirus Market Cafes are on hold at the moment, however Community Bees now offer Garden Chats and Outdoor Craft Socials to individuals where we come directly to a person’s garden and have a cup of tea and chat with them.
